Topic: Accounting: Drilling down with Excel – New Ways to Look at Accounting Data!

Special Guest: Alan Cohn, CPA, MBA

The Long Island "Nerd Nosh" is excited to present a lunchtime meeting for nonprofit leadership and IT staff!

Alan Cohn of Microforce will be showing us how Excel 2007 can drill down to real time data in Dynamics, right out of the box. This opens new possibilities not only for the technologists but also for the financial folks. He will also go over a few tips and tricks on how NPOs can better afford technology through depreciation and financing options.

This is a great meeting to invite your CFO or controller to. Please feel free to do so.

As always, we will open the floor for participants to discuss their own hot topics, so please feel free to bring your questions and current project ideas along. Chances are if you are doing it, thinking of doing it, or have an interest in doing it, someone else does, too. I’m talking about technology, of course.

> Special Drawing for Attendees: NTEN Membership and NTEN Programming Prizes

What is a 501 Tech Club?: Just a group of people interested in how nonprofits can use technology to meet their missions.

How do I stay in touch?: The club is an email list housed in the NTEN Online Community at http://groups.nten.org. Register a community profile first and then join the Long Island group at: http://groups.nten.org/LongIsland

What does the 501 Tech Club Do?: The club is an opportunity for pro's and accidental techies alike to share advice, resources, local news, job openings, job searches, you name it. Basically, it's an opportunity to network with peers and colleagues in your local community while getting some tips and advice for your work.

Spread the word!  We welcome anyone interested in using technology for nonprofit and advocacy efforts.
